چکیده
Abstract. Sea-level proxies for Marine Isotopic Stage 5e (MIS 5e, ca. 124 ka) are abundant along the Japanese shoreline and have been documented over at least past 60 years. The bulk of these sea-level identified in Japan as marine terraces, often correlated by stratigraphic relationships to tephra layers, or other chronologically interpreted strata. Use correlation conjunction with techniques such paleontological analysis, tectonic uplift rates, (volcanic ash), uranium–thorium (U–Th), carbon-14 (14C) dating connected Japan's landforms global patterns change. This paper reviews years publications containing MIS Japan. Data collected this review added World Atlas Last Interglacial Shorelines (WALIS), following their standardizations on elements necessary analyze paleosea-levels. reviewed 70 studies, assembling data points 300 locations examining related papers denoting indicators 5e. database compiled (Tam Yokoyama, 2020) is available https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.4294326. proxy studies rely heavily chronostratigraphic recognized reliable, though opportunities exist further constraining through use numerical age techniques.

متن کاملPost-glacial sea-level changes around the Australian margin: a review
It has been known since Rhodes Fairbridge’s first attempt to establish a global pattern of Holocene sealevel change by combining evidence from Western Australia and from sites in the northern hemisphere that the details of sea-level history since the Last Glacial Maximum vary considerably across the globe. The Australian region is relatively stable tectonically and is situated in the ‘far-field...
متن کاملA 500 kyr record of global sea-level oscillations in the Gulf of Lion, Mediterranean Sea: new insights into MIS 3 sea-level variability
Borehole PRGL1-4 drilled in the upper slope of the Gulf of Lion provides an exceptional record to investigate the impact of late Pleistocene orbitally-driven glacioeustatic sea-level oscillations on the sedimentary outbuilding of a river fed continental margin. High-resolution grainsize and geochemical records supported by oxygen isotope chronostratigraphy allow reinterpreting the last 500 ka u...
متن کاملSome Notes on Sea-level Change around the Australian Coastline
A proper understanding of the risk associated with sea-level change can only be attained by adherence to accurate terminology. In particular, it is vital to recognize the distinction between changes in eustatic sea-level, which correspond to changes in a notional world-wide average, and changes in local relative sea-level (LRSL), which correspond to changes in actual sea-levels at real and part...
متن کاملSea-level proxies in Holocene raised beach ridge deposits (Greenland) revealed by ground-penetrating radar
Identification of sea-level proxies is important for reconstruction of past sea-level variation. Methods for reconstructing Holocene relative sea-level curves are crucial for quantification of the impact of Greenland ice thickness variation on global sea level and vertical land movement. Arctic beach ridges constitute important potential archives of sea-level variation. However, their surface m...
